Matt M reports on the latest speculation concerning the rumoured hp Pocket PC Phone ...

The iPAQ h6700?

Our friend Marc from iPAQabilities has reported that the hp iPAQ h6000 series of Pocket PC Phones may be coming sooner than expected:

"...a couple of days ago I received this email from one of our readers, Dave, concerning the H6000 series and how it could potentially be released in its original timeframe...

I work at a major US Retailer, and the HP representitive was in my store, and said that the newest phone-enabled iPaq was coming WITHIN THE MONTH. That timeframe seemed a bit more aggressive to me than what I had heard, but the shocker was this: the model number? The iPaq 6700. Hmm. I thought it was going to be the 6300."

iPAQ h6700? Interesting. Just days ago, our friends at Mobile Gadget News were reporting the model name as the hp iPAQ-G - and, of course, rumours have been indicating a June/July release date. Still, if true it will be quite interesting. Perhaps hp have decided to pursue an aggressive strategy to beat their competitors (such as Motorola with their MPx Pocket PC Phone Edition)? We can only wait and see ...
