Following Gazmans request for information on the Nokia HS-4W, instead of just replying to him, I thought Id write a little review.

HS 4W HeadsetIn response to one of our users queries on more information on the Nokia HS-4W I can say yes, I've tried this stylish headset out! I was actually looking forward to this headset after satisfactory experiences with the wired version, Nokia Boom Headset, which I used with my Nokia 7650.

Advantages of the Nokia HS-4W:

  • Like it's wired predecessor, this one sat on my ear quite nicely, although the battery/control component was is a little thick (approx. 1.4mm at it's widest point) for me and made my ear stick out a little.
  • Pairing is just a matter of powering up then searching using your bluetooth devide. No actual button pairing process other than that.
  • Voice quality good
  • Nice and light (21g)
  • Good battery standby (160hrs) and talktime (6hrs)
  • Controls are easy to access
  • Voice Tag compatible

Pearl White model Gripes with the Nokia HS-4W:

  • The colours it comes in, pearl white and pearl mocca are too showy for even me - certainly not something that I would wear in the public, but that's just me.
  • Power button is a little hard to press because it's under a layer of rubber. I just used my fingernail.
  • LED light is green instead of blue
  • No charger packaged with it. Nokia assumes that only Nokia mobile owners will use it!? Guess it saves duplication on chargers for Nokia owners though. You can use the Nokia ACP-12 charger with it though.

Overall I'd give it a 8/10...always liked Nokia products!
