Christmas comes but once a year, and guess what guys it`s almost here. Once again thanks to Mr Gadget we have some great prizes to give away.

Back by popular request, we are delighted to announce the 2005 MTekk Christmas giveaway.

We have a total of six prizes - 5 USB Christmas trees courtesey of  Mr. Gadget, plus an ex-demo JavoSkin for the XdaII/IIi (other prizes may be added later).

The USB Christmas trees (valued at $23 each) are 20cm high with fiber optic lights in four colours that flash just like the lights on a normal christmas tree. However, a little more portable than a normal tree is, you don't have to worry about the pine needles going everywhere and it doesn't need to be folded down!  Just plug into the nearest USB post for instant Christmas cheer - essential for any office.

For those users with an XdaII or IIi (or equivalent device) we have a demonstrator JavoSKIN silicon case which was provided to us for review purposes and which Mike has kindly donated to the prize pool.

So what do you have to do to win one of these goodies?  Simple: what date did Mike arrive to take up permanent residence in Australia?  If you need a clue: it was approximately ten years ago (but how approximate is 'approximate'?).  Enter your guesses here.

The usual rules apply:

  • Closest guess gets first pick of the prizes, then the next closest and so on;  in the event of a tie we shall use a tie break question.
  • Only eligible posters may participate (minimum of ten genuine posts).
  • Only one valid guess per poster (the most recent will apply if multiple guesses are made).
  • Moderators' decision will be final.
  • The competition closes at midnight on the 19th December 2005 (end of the 19th, AEST) we shall announce the winners shortly after with the intention that you can get your prize for Christmas.

Our thanks again go to our very own Santa - Mr. Gadget - who has loads of Christmas goodies and gadgets just waiting for you, just drop by his virtual workshop for your very own Ho... Ho... Happy Christmas!
