Pocket Solutions have released a nice leather case for the XDA Atom and HP Ipaq rw6828 and were happy to send me one for me to review.

The Pocket Solutions Case has the following features:

• Two Mini SD Card Pockets
• Money Pouch
• Cut-outs for all buttons and the Status LED
• Cut-outs for the camera lens and LED flash
• Cut-outs for easy access to the Reset hole and Mini USB Connector
• Removable and rotating Belt Clip

This case is imported from Turkey, and has been well crafted from leather.  The stitching is neat and appears fairly strong giving me the impression that this case should last well.

The front flap is nice and stiff to help protect the fragile screen of the XDA Atom / HP rw6828 and is held closed by a pair of small magnets.  These magnets hold the flap closed firmly while still allowing it to be opened easily.

My Atom fitted inside this case perfectly, and all buttons, USB connector, reset hole, audio socket and camera were accessible through the punched out access holes in the case.

The belt clip looks and feels nice and strong.  To clip the case on the belt clip, the case must first be rotated 90 degrees (in the direction of your belt) and then pushed down until it clicks in place.  Once locked there, the case is free to swivel which aids in keeping the Atom out of the way.  To remove the case from the belt clip, the case needs to be rotated 90 degrees again and the release button pressed before the case will unclip in an upward direction.  I really liked this simple method to help prevent the case accidentally being unclipped from your belt.  It takes a conscious effort to remove the case from your belt.

Although this is a nice case, the vinyl material used to back the leather pouch seems a bit tacky.  They needed to build in strength as the leather used is very thin, but I would have liked to see something other than a vinyl material.
