i've got typhoon 3500 with update tool 2.1
all update tool v.1.1 images take my device to showing only white screen. ;(
i've tried the english image with Win2003SE "Mio 168RS UT R0.5" from Tolstii's FTP.
it is NOT possible to flash device with UT 2.1 with image "UT R0.5" - "white screen" ;((((

Tested Yakumo Delta 300 GPS (WM2003) with Mio 168 RS ROM (WM 2003SE, file W2003se_MIO168_168WWER27).
Working, but GPS is not detected. Is it possible to do something with
this problem or should I go back to the old good WM PocketPC 2003
ROM? GPS is better for me than Landscape screen...
I tried to flash GPS with:
ROM from MedionGPSFirmware-v10
Mio168_GPS_Firmware
But it is not allowed to do it.
Any suggestions?

I have an Medion MD 40885, model no. MDPPC 200, so can anybody tell me wich english rom should I use (because now is in german)? It's the same for yakumo 300? My model has the GPS anthena separate not integrated in my device.

Hi everyboy,
I read the 13 pages : very interesting !
And then I tried to apply what I have learn. I successfully flashed the rom of my Yakumo Delta 300 GPS with its french windows 2003 rom with the US windows 2003 se one. And it worked. But I would prefer a french version of this firmware : is there a location where I can find such rom ?

Managed to flash my German Yakumo 300GPS into English.
With many thanks 2 Dennis and araignee01.
Step by step:
Format a SD card using storagetools software (that you have to install first on your PDA).
(I used a trial version of http://www.softwinter.com/storagetools.html)
Select FAT16. Then copy the file
(linked by Dennis: http://rapidshare.de/files/15058629/Yakumo_Delta_300_GPS_ROM_VB300WWEGPSR22P02.zip.html)
and rename it to WinCEIMG.bin. Save this file on the SD card. Once it is done, put the button on the back of your PDA on "off" position. Press the Joystick (keep it pressed) and put the back button on "on" again. You will get a menu. Select the second line (1. ...) using your joystick and push on it to run the update. You just have to wait until you reach 100% and to start your PDA at the end (using the button on the back side).
Mine is working perfect.

I've got typhoon 3500 with "white screen". The original update tool was 2.1 but I tried to upgrade with wrong image and the screen now is white. If I connect the device with activesync I can browser the device.
Is it possible to repair the device and flash it with a imgage with update tool 2.1 ?
Where can I find a image with update tool 2.1?

Search this forum for BlueMedia_Rom_GER_V2Ώ].1.rar. It's actually in this 'mitac mio 168 english rom image needed' thread.
On the same page there is also a link to typhoonita.rar with Upgrade Tool V2.1 in a post by filidana.
A recommendation to anyone flashing ROM. First make a backup copy with osloader-1.5.6.exe. If not else because someone else may need your language version.

Hi,
I reflash my typhoon 3500 with the original rom in german but now the device doesn't boot. the screen now have a logo of blue media.
There's somone that can repair my device (with UL2.1) with a jtag? Or where I can buy the jatag for reflash my boot rom of the typhoon?

If someone knows where I can get it, don't hesitate to put the link  or if you own such PDA with this operating system, I can tell you how to backup it ...

The French ROM WinCEIMG.zip at ricom is probably version 168FRAR22D. At least that's what I downloaded in May last year. Not second edition but I think with MioMap included.

Hey there! i've flashed my medion40600 (mdppc200) with a windows2003 SE english rom, and it turned into a brick  the device itself is a clone of mio339 (without the video camera) .. can anyone give me a hand with the jtag pinout? from what i saw at CeDeRom's site, i might need to desolder the cpu... |

i just purchased a new mio 168. for the life of me where do i get the
requirements to set up so i can go online? when its hooked up to comp
it goes online but when i unplug it it says not able to go online???i'm
not really comp friendly. thanks!!!

Hy,
I have install the ROM from yakumo delta 300 gps English version in my airis n509 french version. Instalation goes ok, but when i must restart, mi ppc airis doesn´t goes on, it does´t work now, i tried the reset button and hard-reset button, but nothing works.
What can i do?
