Hi I have a TomTom One v3 and want to create some new POI categories. (Opp Shops in Melbourne)
What is the best way? The TT doesn't allow me to create a new category.
I have a Mac, so what is the best software to do this?
Cheers

| POI editing software for Mac is very limited. I use POIedit running under XP and Parallels. The only POI editing tools I know of for OS X is the Sampsoft suite of tools (http://www.samposoft.com/).

Thx Nonno Samposoft doesn't appear to allow you to create new POI categories and add coordinates like POIEdit does. I will go back to the old hack PC with POIEdit. I have just created some Melbourne POIs for hitting the Opp Shops on a Saturday morning |

To Add a new POI Category in TomTom (V8.010) do the following from the TomTom main screen :
Change Preferences|Manage POIs|Add POI Category
If you then want to have an audible Warning when near the POI there is a "Warn when near POI" option which requires a distance to be entered.

Thanks Graham, but I don't get an option to Manage POIs on my TomTom One 3rd Edition...weird - the downsides of the cheapie in the range huh. That would make adding to POI categories on the move much easier. bugger. Any software hacks people know of for the TomTom One V3? |

I thought the TomTom One V3 was freely upgradable to V8.010 - I own a year old TomTom XL so can't test.
Have you downloaded the latest TomeTom Home (V2.3.1.92) and then attempted to update your TomTom via your PC?
