Our friend Mauricio over at Geekzone has reported on the changes made to Pocket Internet Explorer with the newly announced Windows Mobile 2003 Second Edition:
"I was told by a Microsoft source that Pocket Internet Explorer does support the high resolution screens (VGA) perfectly now. Pocket Internet Explorer was completely re-architected around xHTML. The browser now supports One Column View exactly like you might have seen in Windows Mobile Smartphone 2003 devices in the market.
Some of the new architecture and features include XHTML basic, Cascading Style Sheets (mobile profile) and URL Mapper with UI.
Additional standard (among others) include: More HTML 4.0, Jscript v5.5, WAP 2.0 (WAP 1.2.1 + XHTML), WTLS, GDI+ Imaging, Animated GIFS and IPv6"
Sound like great news for all - hopefully even more sites will work better in the new OS!
